Welcome to Tuxworks!

We've been writing software and working with computers since about 1983, and have done work in a lot of areas. Between us, we've worked on a whole lot of odd pieces of hardware and software over the years, and picked up a lot of useless knowledge along the way, and a little bit of useful knowledge mixed in.

Most of it's been fun, but all of it's been valuable in some sense, in that it's provided an education and breadth of knowledge and experience that's tough to gain in a short period of time.

We develop and contribute to a variety of Open Source projects. In addition, we offer contract services to individuals or companies. We specialize in Linux network tools, especially email and web services, including:

	Linux - Installation, configuration, support, evangelism, documentation, tutoring
	Samba - Including integration with NT/95 networks
	Email and News systems
	Web site development (HTML, CGI scripting, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL)
	Network software development
	Whatever else we run across

We look for interesting work that can be released as Open Source (we will consider non-OSS work only if it looks REALLY interesting and fun). Our rates fluctuate vary with the amount of time we have at the moment, how cool the work is, and how difficult it is to accomplish.

Ideally, we look for situations where we can leverage our experiences to help a client get over a tough spot or formulate a good plan of action. We're less interested in long-term multi-year engagements where one of us is supposed to go to months of meetings and be on-site for endless hours. We're looking for people who want their problems solved, and who want to get good work done without messing around.
